I offer an individualized approach to therapy.

Like many modern therapists, I use a combination of approaches to suit my clients’ individual needs.

I frequently utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and psychodynamic therapy, although each client’s treatment plan varies based on their needs and preferences.

Colorado therapist for trauma - EMDR
Individualized Therapy Services Denver Colorado

$150/55 minutes

Each individual therapy session may look a little different. You can expect a safe, comfortable environment with space to share, process and gain insight. When appropriate, I utilize EMDR as one of my primary therapeutic modalities, a practice that uses bi-lateral stimulation to rewire the brain’s often subconscious response to emotional stimuli. It is an effective way to unpack and reprocess distressing events to diminish the emotional response, and has been shown in clinical studies to reduce symptoms of PTSD in just a few sessions.

EMDR can be used to treat more than just trauma; it treats anxiety, depression, attachment wounds, chronic pain, and addiction. After successful treatment with EMDR therapy emotional distress is relieved, negative beliefs are reconstructed, and physiological arousal is reduced. The result is that clients finish EMDR therapy feeling empowered by the experiences that once kept them stuck. In EMDR we call this, “adaptive resolution.”

I often integrate additional holistic healing modalities in my practice including IFS or “parts work,” somatic awareness and nervous system regulation. I have a trusted network of practitioners whose work has been complementary to my clients’ success in therapy, including acupuncture, psychedelics, psychiatry, neurofeedback, bodywork and somatic work. Together, we can identify the modalities that speak to you and develop a plan to meet your unique needs.

Sessions are offered in-person, conveniently located off I-25 and Colorado Blvd. Telehealth sessions via a secure platform are also available to Colorado residents.

The Safe and Sound Protocol Listening Therapy in Denver

$350 for individual therapy clients
$700 for SSP-only clients

I am pleased to offer Dr. Stephen Porges’ Safe and Sound Protocol in my practice. SSP is based in Polyvagal Theory. According to this theory, a nervous system that constantly feels unsafe, such as when it experiences trauma, is likely to become trapped in this stressed state.

The Safe and Sound Protocol is based around listening sessions, where you receive specially filtered music designed to stimulate the vagus nerve and send cues of safety to the nervous system. This enhances your ability to feel safe and connected - or get “unstuck” from the stressed state. It is a bit like physical therapy for your ear muscles: they relax, you relax.

The effect is long-lasting: after just five hours of listening, you can expect to feel more calm, balanced, resilient and connected.

As part of this therapy, we will meet once either in person or virtually for a 30-minute assessment; after this, you will receive access to the listening material to complete at home at your convenience. Listening sessions can be divided up as you need: some clients listen in 10-minute increments, while others might listen for up to 30 minutes at a time. I offer the SSP’s Core Protocol for initial nervous system regulation, followed by the Balance Protocol for ongoing support.
