It’s nice to meet you.
I've always been drawn to connecting with people. As with many recovering people pleasers, I have an innate ability to read those around me. But it wasn't until I started my own therapeutic journey that I realized how deeply anxiety, perfectionism, and people-pleasing had impacted me. Therapy taught me to make a “U-turn,” helping me shift my focus away from others and instead explore my own parts and patterns in relationships. I realized all the ways I had been unconsciously trying to protect myself from pain and vulnerability while sacrificing the authenticity I truly craved. I also learned about the significant impact of diet and lifestyle on my mental health and what it really meant to heal from the inside out. I became a therapist because I wanted to help others do the same thing.
As a therapist, I believe that everyone deserves to be truly seen, and sharing our pain with another person is a deeply meaningful experience. I also genuinely believe that you are doing your best at any given moment. It takes immense courage to consider change, and pursuing healing for ourselves is one of the most loving things we can ever do.
I live in Denver, CO with my husband and four children, whom I consider my best teachers. In my free time I enjoy organic gardening, yoga and exploring avenues for holistic health.
It is impossible to move through the world without feeling the impact of disappointment, loss, fear or trauma. Our minds and bodies are incredibly resilient: they are designed to create protective mechanisms against pain and disconnection of all kinds. and while these protective mechanisms kept us safe at one time, they can create a barrier between ourselves, others, and the way we want to show up in the present. These can also reinforce negative beliefs about who we are and what we are worth —such as "I'm not good enough", "I can’t trust others", or "Emotions aren’t safe" —which can profoundly impact how we interact with the world.
It can truly feel like you are stuck between who you want to be - who you really are - and who your life experiences and nervous system responses allow you to be in any given moment.
This stuckness can make it challenging to connect and relate, or even to find a path forward. The great news? While we are designed to protect ourselves, we are also innately wired to heal. By understanding patterns of thought and behavior, and using therapeutic tools like EMDR, we can rewire our brains and bodies at the most fundamental levels to heal, grow and find emotional freedom.
Seeking help can be scary - I know.
I hope to be a warm, empathetic, insightful guide on your healing journey.
